Dr. Zavala-Alarcon studied at the National Autonomous University in Mexico City, receiving his Medical Degree, Suma Cum Laude, in 1977. He completed specialization in General Surgery and Internal Medicine and then a Fellowship in Cardiology and another Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the internationally renowned National Institute of Cardiology in Mexico City. He received recognition as best resident in both internal medicine/general surgery and cardiology. He was recognized as one of the most respected and successful cardiologists in Mexico but due to family issues he moved to the USA where he completed a second Internal Medicine Residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix AZ, to fulfill U.S. requirements. He then became chief of Cardiology at both Maricopa Medical Center and Phoenix Memorial Hospital. After many years of intensive work in cardiology, concerned with the impossibility to provide optimal medical care in the current managed care environment in this country he pursued and completed a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery at Millennium Cosmetic and Laser Institute from 2003 to 2007 with extensive training in Liposuction, diverse Laser treatments and minimally invasive cosmetic surgery. He opened CIAO BELLA MEDICAL SPA @ VEIN CLINIC in Chandler Arizona in December 2007.
